XRP ETFs Attract $1.8 Billion, Yet Price Declines

Despite significant inflows of $1.8 billion into XRP ETFs, the price of XRP continues to drop amid new partnerships for Ripple.

American XRP ETFs are witnessing a remarkable surge in capital, with cumulative net inflows nearing $1.8 billion after a remarkable thirteen weeks of consistent influx. While these investments show impressive numbers, the price of XRP itself is experiencing downward pressure, demonstrating the complicated relationship between market sentiment and capital investment.

Solid Performance from XRP ETFs

As of mid-October, the total net inflows into American XRP ETFs have reached approximately $1.803 billion following a streak of positive performance over the past thirteen weeks. These funds now hold net assets amounting to $1.509 billion, suggesting a considerable gap of about $294 million compared to the invested amount. Nonetheless, the consistent growth in inflows illustrates strong investor interest in XRP despite challenging market conditions.

Market Trends and XRP Pricing

On October 14, a single day saw XRP ETFs generating net inflows of around $740,400, with Bitwise accounting for most of this amount, bringing its total cumulative inflows to roughly $688 million. This consistent inflow stands in contrast to the recent slowdown in Bitcoin ETF investments. Data from SoSoValue indicates that while XRP ETFs are thriving, the broader market for cryptocurrencies remains volatile, particularly in light of recent economic indicators.

Currently, XRP is priced at around $1.32, reflecting a decline of about 7% over the past week. Following a brief period where XRP traded near $1.42, the token faced downward pressure coinciding with the release of U.S. inflation data that exceeded forecasts. This volatility is emblematic of XRP's struggles within the market, highlighting the disconnect between strong ETF inflows and token performance.

Ripple's Expanding Partnerships

Amidst these challenges, Ripple is not slowing its pace of institutional development. On October 14, the company unveiled a new partnership with DriveWealth, a brokerage infrastructure pioneer that collaborates with over a hundred other partners. This partnership aims to implement Ripple’s dollar-backed stablecoin, RLUSD, on the XRP ledger to enable efficient transaction settlements, particularly in the European market. Furthermore, both companies are working on strategies for improved cross-border payments and asset custody.

In a separate venture, Ripple has also entered into an agreement with Meritz Securities in South Korea, marking the company’s first collaboration with a local brokerage. The focus of this partnership lies in developing custody and tokenization solutions that comply with South Korea’s evolving regulatory landscape, especially as the country prepares for a regulated securitization process ahead of a target date in February 2027.

Looking Ahead

These initiatives illustrate Ripple's commitment to expanding its influence amid ongoing market challenges. Despite significant ETF inflows, the XRP price continues to wane, further solidifying concerns among investors about the asset's standing in the competitive cryptocurrency landscape. As Ripple advances with new partnerships and projects, the crucial question remains: Will these moves lead to a sustainable increase in XRP's price or will market fluctuations continue to overshadow positive developments?
