Editorial Policy
How Blockchain Data Wiki sources, verifies, corrects and discloses — and what we will not do.
This policy sets out how Blockchain Data Wiki produces its journalism. It applies to everything we publish.
Sourcing and verification
We attribute facts to their origin. Where a figure comes from a company, an exchange, an analytics provider or a regulator, we say so, because who produced a number is part of what the number means. Where we cannot verify a claim independently, we describe it as a claim and name who is making it.
On-chain data is treated as evidence of what happened on a chain, not as evidence of who did it or why. Attribution of addresses to people or organisations is reported as an assessment by whoever made it, with their confidence attached.
Separating reporting from analysis
News reporting states what happened. Analysis states what we think it means and is written so that a reader can tell the two apart. We do not present inference as fact, and we try to say plainly when we are uncertain.
What we do not publish
- Price predictions, price targets and trading signals.
- Investment recommendations of any kind.
- Sponsored content presented as editorial. If material is paid for, it is labelled as such and is not written by our newsroom.
- Coverage bought or influenced by payment, advertising, or the threat of its withdrawal.
Conflicts of interest
Contributors disclose holdings in any asset, protocol or company that is the subject of their work. Where a material holding exists, either the article carries a disclosure or the story is reassigned. Contributors may not trade on information obtained in the course of reporting before it is published.
Corrections
We correct errors of fact as soon as we are satisfied that an error occurred. Minor corrections — a misspelled name, a wrong date — are made in place. Corrections that change the substance of a story carry a dated note explaining what was changed and why. We do not silently delete or rewrite published articles to remove an error.

Use of AI tools
Automated tools may be used for research assistance, transcription and copy editing. Editorial judgement, sourcing and final responsibility for everything published rest with named human editors. We do not publish machine-generated articles without human verification of their factual content.
Right of reply
Where an article makes a significant criticism of an identifiable organisation or person, we seek comment before publication wherever practicable, and we publish the substance of any response received.
