Vertiv Launches SmartIT for AI Infrastructure Simplification
Vertiv's new SmartIT platform streamlines AI infrastructure deployment in data centers, enhancing efficiency and scalability.
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 26, 2026 — Vertiv Holdings Co. (NYSE: VRT), recognized for its expertise in critical digital infrastructure, has unveiled the Vertiv™ SmartIT platform. This innovative pre-engineered solution aims to simplify the deployment of high-density AI infrastructures for businesses and research institutions within both established facilities and newly constructed data centers.
Innovative Architecture
The SmartIT solution is developed on NVIDIA MGX™ and OCP ORV3 architecture and supports implementations across a range of environments including colocation and hyperscale data centers. Previously, this technology was utilized to enhance NVIDIA DGX™ GB300, the top-tier AI platform available for enterprises. The integration of various systems, such as rack infrastructure, direct-to-chip cooling, and power distribution, is completed before shipping, reducing the complexity of on-site integration.
Key Benefits of Vertiv SmartIT
- Reduced Deployment Time: The factory-validated design allows for quicker installations by minimizing the need for extensive on-site configuration.
- Simplified Vendor Coordination: Clients can streamline their purchasing experience with a single order covering rack, power, cooling, and monitoring systems.
- AI-Ready Existing Spaces: Legacy enterprise and Class A commercial buildings can now accommodate advanced AI infrastructure without the need for major renovations.
- Repeatable Scalability: The system is designed for easy expansion from single to multi-rack deployments without needing a redesign.
- Enhanced Operational Oversight: Built-in monitoring systems offer real-time insights and automated responses, integrating leak detection and other essential features directly into the infrastructure.
Supporting AI Deployment Efficiency
Vertiv™ SmartIT acts as a scalable infrastructure platform, supporting a range of NVIDIA systems, such as the NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 and NVIDIA DGX™ Rubin NVL8, among others. The solution greatly simplifies the operational aspect of AI infrastructure by incorporating crucial functionalities like monitoring and leak detection from the outset. With support for protocols like Redfish, SNMP, and Modbus, managing operations becomes much more streamlined.
Integration with Vertiv's Ecosystem
SmartIT does not work in isolation; it can be integrated within a larger Vertiv framework that enhances management capabilities. With products like Vertiv™ SmartRun for row-level integration and Vertiv™ rack power distribution units for effective monitoring and power management, customers can create cohesive AI environments. Additionally, Vertiv™ Unify allows for comprehensive analytics across the entire power and cooling ecosystem, further bolstering operational management.
A demonstration of the Vertiv™ SmartIT with a NVIDIA HGX™ Rubin NVL8 was also showcased during the NVIDIA GTC Berlin event in October, illustrating the synergy between optimized infrastructure architecture and NVIDIA's AI technologies.
