NCC Bank's Commitment to Women Entrepreneurs

NCC Bank PLC is actively promoting women’s economic empowerment through its recent training session held at the Dhanmondi branch. This initiative is part of the bank's broader program called “Entrepreneurship Development & Green Banking,” which aims to foster sustainable business practices among women.

Positive Impact on the Economy

During the event, Md Habibur Rahman, the bank's deputy managing director, emphasized the significant impact women entrepreneurs have on the national economy. He noted that these entrepreneurs not only create jobs but also contribute to inclusive growth.

Habibur encouraged participants to take advantage of the bank's Parama Accounts specifically designed for women and highlighted various dedicated banking services available to them. He stressed that access to formal financial services, proper financing options, and digital banking tools are crucial for enabling women to establish and grow sustainable businesses.

Emphasis on Digital Banking Solutions

Habibur also spoke about the bank’s innovative digital banking initiatives, such as NCC Always and Bangla QR, which simplify banking and business transactions. He urged women entrepreneurs to utilize these resources for better financial management and more efficient business operations.

Training Program Overview

Helal Uddin, the vice-president and head of business at the Elephant Road branch, chaired the training session, which aims to enhance the business skills and financial knowledge of women entrepreneurs. The program targets 3,000 participants across the country, with trainings already conducted at 99 branches, successfully engaging 2,490 women entrepreneurs thus far.

The initiative not only focuses on business acumen but also strives to improve women’s access to banking services and financial products. This training empowers women with the necessary tools to succeed in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

In addition to Habibur and Uddin, other notable attendees included Nighat Mumtaz, executive vice-president and head of sustainable and women’s banking, and Md Jashimuddin, senior vice-president and regional head of the outskirts Dhaka region, who all reinforced the bank's commitment to supporting women in business.
