Bitcoin's November Outlook: Will It Break $85,000 This Month?

  • 3 min read

As Bitcoin fluctuates in November, key factors influence its potential to recover above $85,000. Here's what to watch.

November historically brings volatility for Bitcoin, with significant price variations reported during the month. For instance, November 2024 saw Bitcoin starting at $70,347 and closing at $96,436, marking a remarkable 37.1% rise. In contrast, November 2025 opened at $109,556, faced a low of $80,525, and ended at $90,370, leading to a decline of 17.5%.

The Role of Spot Bitcoin ETFs

Spot Bitcoin ETFs, which track Bitcoin prices and function like stocks, are pivotal to Bitcoin's price dynamics. On October 22, these funds faced unprecedented withdrawals, totaling $635.6 million, with even more exits of $110.3 million observed on October 23 from the iShares Bitcoin Trust (NASDAQ:IBIT).

However, these trends can shift rapidly. Notably, prior to the outflows, large inflows were recorded on October 19 and 21, totaling $526.6 million and $528.4 million respectively, according to data from SoSoValue. Overall, cumulative inflows as of October 22 reached an impressive $57.3 billion, suggesting that a few days of positive movements could elevate Bitcoin back above the $85,000 mark.

Market Influences: High Oil Prices and Tech Performance

Bitcoin's price is also being pressured by high oil prices and poor tech stock performance. On October 20, WTI crude oil reported at $108 a barrel, reflecting a 13.1% surge in just one week, having peaked at $110 earlier in the month. Rising oil prices translate to higher inflation, adversely impacting speculative investments like Bitcoin.

The situation was further intensified on October 23, with oil prices rising again amid geopolitical concerns in the Middle East. Concurrently, the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ) experienced a 5% decline in the month preceding October 23. Bitcoin often mirrors tech stock movements, especially when market sentiment is shaky.

A sliver of optimism arose on October 22 when the 10-year Treasury yield dipped to 4.96% down from 5.31%, making higher-risk assets like Bitcoin more appealing due to relatively lower returns on safer investments.

The Impact of Upcoming Elections

The upcoming elections on November 3 could significantly influence the market's mood. Current betting analytics from Polymarket suggest a 91.5% likelihood of Democratic victories in the House and a 67.5% chance in the Senate. Should the election results align closely with these estimates, market anxiety might subside. However, unexpected outcomes could lead to increased volatility.

As of October 22, the VIX—a benchmark for market volatility—saw an uptick to 19, a 15.6% increase within the week. This figure is just under the 20-point threshold, which generally signals heightened market nervousness.

Forecast for Bitcoin Prices

While there is potential for Bitcoin to reach above $85,000 in November—a rise of approximately 5.6%—maintaining that level may prove challenging. Bitcoin recently hit $87,249 over the previous month. Yet, unless there is a notable improvement in ETF inflows following the election, sustaining this price point until the end of November seems improbable.

To clear the path for an upturn, Bitcoin must surpass both significant moving averages and record several days of favorable ETF inflow following the November 3 elections. It would also need to close above $83,556, the price at which it opened in October, and subsequently breach the $84,856 mark while oil prices stabilize below $100. Conversely, if Bitcoin closes beneath the 30-day low of $79,676—just 1.1% away—ongoing outflows may push any potential recovery into December or beyond.
