COPENHAGEN, Denmark — Nov. 17, 2025 — The Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA), a non-profit initiative launched by Bybit to promote responsible innovation, wrapped the Blockchain Impact Forum 2025 in Copenhagen in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Alternative Finance Lab (AltFinLab). Held Nov. 4–5, the two-day forum brought together more than 300 policymakers, technologists, and impact leaders from over 30 countries to examine practical ways blockchain can advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A forum for partnership and purpose
The event opened with “Chains of Change,” an invite-only leadership day focused on governance, digital public infrastructure, and cross-sector collaboration. Day two featured the BGAwards and the SDG Blockchain Accelerator Showcase hosted with UNDP AltFinLab, highlighting projects using blockchain for financial inclusion, sustainability, and digital trust. The BGAwards served as a central moment to celebrate projects delivering measurable social and environmental outcomes.
Themes and speakers
Sessions spanned three core themes:
– Blockchain for Digital Public Goods: governance models, digital identity, and transparent data systems.
– Finance for Inclusion and Impact: blockchain tools to broaden access to capital and improve financial equity.
– Sustainability and Climate Accountability: applications in carbon tracking, supply chain traceability, and ESG reporting.
Speakers included Helen Liu (Co-CEO, Bybit; Founder, BGA), Robert Pasicko (Team Leader, UNDP AltFinLab), Frederik Gregaard (CEO, Cardano Foundation), David Ripley (CEO, Kraken), Kurt Nielsen (President, Partisia Blockchain), Nina Rong (Head of Ecosystem Development, Arbitrum Foundation), Sunny Lu (CEO, VeChain), and Prof. Morten Meyerhoff Nielsen (United Nations University, UNU-EGOV). Panels and keynotes emphasized how blockchain can strengthen trust, increase transparency, and link technological innovation to measurable development outcomes.
On the Alliance’s mission, Helen Liu said the technology has moved beyond speculation: “At the Forum we saw builders, governments, and institutions applying blockchain to create transparency, accountability, and real social impact.” She added that BGA’s goal is to translate innovation into concrete benefits for communities and the planet.

Participants reiterated the importance of public–private collaboration to ensure blockchain development aligns with human development goals. Presentations and demos highlighted how distributed ledgers can bolster institutional trust, unlock new financing pathways, and create transparent systems to advance social and environmental objectives.
