Barzah Capital Partners with QFC to Innovate Real Estate Tokenisation

Barzah Capital, a pioneering firm based in Qatar, has officially joined the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Digital Assets Lab. This collaboration aims to develop and refine its innovative model for tokenising real estate assets, a practice that allows investors to purchase fractional shares in properties.

Advancing Real Estate Tokenisation

Led by experienced professionals in the real estate sector, Barzah Capital is creating a robust infrastructure to represent real estate assets as digital tokens. This model is designed to democratize investment access, thereby attracting a broader pool of investors.

As an alumnus of the Qatar FinTech Hub Pre-Acceleration programme set to graduate in 2025, Barzah Capital is also supported by the Qatar Development Bank, which provides resources and backing for innovative financial solutions.

Collaboration with QFC

As part of its participation in the QFC Digital Assets Lab, Barzah Capital will collaborate closely with the QFC to navigate the regulatory landscape for real estate tokenisation. This partnership will enable the company to work with industry stakeholders, gaining valuable insights that will help shape its infrastructure and adapt to market requirements.

In Qatar, real estate stands out as a highly promising sector for tokenisation, offering new avenues for investment. By allowing fractional ownership, tokenisation can significantly improve liquidity and enhance transparency in real estate transactions.

Leadership Insights

Mr. Mansoor Rashid Al-Khater, CEO of the QFC, emphasized the transformative potential of tokenisation in the investment landscape: "We are thrilled to welcome Barzah Capital to our Digital Assets Lab. The tokenisation of real estate is an exciting opportunity that aligns with our goal of fostering a regulated digital assets ecosystem in Qatar. This initiative not only supports innovative financial services but also contributes to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third Financial Sector Strategic Plan."

Mr. Mana Ibrahim H. Al-Mana, the Founder and Chairman of Barzah Capital, remarked on the significance of this partnership: "Joining the QFC Digital Assets Lab is a pivotal step for our company. We aim to establish a Shariah-compliant tokenisation framework that starts with real estate and can eventually expand to encompass a wider variety of Real World Assets (RWAs). Collaborating with the QFC allows us to validate our model while fostering a reliable digital assets ecosystem in Qatar."

Fostering Innovation in Qatar

The QFC Digital Assets Lab is dedicated to nurturing next-generation digital innovation in Qatar. The Lab serves as a testing ground for new business models, enabling participants to align their innovations with regulatory standards. Through partnerships and collaborative efforts, participants can refine their proposals and convert conceptual ideas into market-ready solutions.
