SINGAPORE, April 30, 2026 — VerifyVASP has acquired Sygna, a Japan-based Travel Rule provider, marking a significant step in the company’s global expansion and its role as core compliance infrastructure for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) in major international markets.
Consolidating a fragmented Travel Rule ecosystem is central to the acquisition. VerifyVASP said the deal brings Sygna’s Japan-focused connectivity into its Verified Network, a global compliance infrastructure designed for secure, real-time, standardized exchange of Travel Rule data between VASPs. The combined network is intended to increase scale, deepen geographic coverage, and strengthen interoperability while aligning with national regulations, FATF guidance, and global data protection rules.
Sygna’s existing members will continue operating without disruption. VerifyVASP plans a phased onboarding to the Verified Network, with local adaptations to meet domestic regulatory requirements. The integration aims to broaden connectivity across key markets and reduce friction in cross-border transfers. At the same time, VerifyVASP’s current members will gain access to a larger pool of regulated counterparties, which the company says will streamline compliance workflows and improve cross-jurisdictional coordination.
VerifyVASP positioned the transaction as a move toward establishing a global standard for Travel Rule compliance infrastructure. Shih Yun Chia, CEO of VerifyVASP, said the acquisition underscores the company’s commitment to building an objectives-based, globally connected compliance network as international bodies increase emphasis on enforcement.
Michael Ou, founder and CEO of Sygna, noted that Sygna was built to provide trusted compliance infrastructure in one of the world’s most demanding regulatory environments, and that combining with VerifyVASP expands the reach and impact of that work across more markets.
As regulatory expectations continue to evolve, VerifyVASP said it will keep investing in a connected compliance ecosystem to support VASPs, financial institutions, and regulators in creating more secure, transparent, and trusted digital asset markets.
