SINGAPORE, April 30, 2026 — VerifyVASP, a prominent provider of Travel Rule compliance solutions, today announced it has acquired Sygna, a well-established Japan-based compliance infrastructure firm.
The acquisition advances VerifyVASP’s international expansion and strengthens its role as a foundational compliance provider for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) in major jurisdictions.
Bringing the Travel Rule ecosystem together
By bringing Sygna into its platform, VerifyVASP is accelerating consolidation of a fragmented Travel Rule market into a more interoperable, standards-based network that aligns with national laws, FATF guidance, and global data protection expectations. The combined capabilities increase the scale, geographic reach, and regulatory coverage of VerifyVASP’s infrastructure.
Central to the transaction is VerifyVASP’s Verified Network — a global compliance backbone built for secure, near real-time, standardised data exchange between VASPs. Integrating Sygna’s connectivity and relationships will broaden that network’s scope, deepen its market presence in Asia, and enhance cross-border interoperability.
Sygna’s customers will continue normal operations without interruption and will be gradually migrated onto the Verified Network in ways that respect local regulatory and privacy requirements. At the same time, VerifyVASP’s existing partners will gain access to a wider set of regulated counterparties, reducing frictions in international transfers and streamlining compliance workflows.
Strengthening global Travel Rule standards
VerifyVASP says the deal reinforces its ambition to be the de facto global standard for Travel Rule compliance infrastructure. Shih Yun Chia, VerifyVASP’s CEO, commented that the acquisition strengthens the company’s objective-driven network at a time when FATF, regulators, and financial intelligence units are increasing enforcement and coordination worldwide.
Michael Ou, Founder and CEO of Sygna, noted that Sygna was built to deliver trusted compliance infrastructure within one of the world’s most rigorous regulatory environments. He said joining forces with VerifyVASP will extend Sygna’s impact beyond Japan and place both teams in a stronger position to support secure and efficient Travel Rule compliance globally.
As regulatory expectations evolve, VerifyVASP says it will continue to invest in a globally connected compliance ecosystem that supports VASPs, financial institutions, and regulators in creating more transparent, secure digital asset markets.
