Ran Neuner, founder of Crypto Banter and host of CNBC’s Crypto Trader, says he’s finding it increasingly difficult to explain Bitcoin’s value as the asset’s narrative evolves. Asked by Cointelegraph why people should buy Bitcoin, Neuner replied, ‘I don’t know how to answer that question. That’s the problem.’
Bitcoin has long been presented both as peer-to-peer money and as a gold-like store of value. Neuner argues those roles are harder to reconcile when BTC’s price no longer moves consistently with traditional safe-haven assets. ‘The biggest crisis that I have at the moment is justifying to myself what Bitcoin is and where Bitcoin derives its value from,’ he said.
Rather than making short-term price predictions, Neuner urges investors to focus on positioning, data and risk management. He points to macro forces — geopolitical tensions, oil prices and inflation — as the primary drivers of markets today, noting that capital flows often reveal more than headlines.
Looking ahead, Neuner suggested emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence could reshape crypto use cases, for example enabling autonomous agents to transact on blockchain networks.
