TAIPEI, April 24, 2026 — HOYA BIT, a Taiwan-based cryptocurrency exchange, announced it has become the world’s first crypto exchange to receive BSI ISO 14068-1 carbon neutrality certification. The certificate was presented in Taiwan by Bryn Sutton, Vice President of BSI, and Aiman Ali, Global Head of Sustainability, highlighting BSI’s formal recognition of HOYA BIT’s sustainability work.
HOYA BIT said it has integrated carbon governance, transparent emissions disclosure, and independent third-party auditing into its core operations to establish a credible sustainability framework for digital assets. BSI, the world’s first national standards body, issues certifications used as benchmarks for responsible digital governance and recognized by major technology companies, including Microsoft and Google.
ISO 14068-1 requires organizations to report full life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions, establish a clear carbon-reduction pathway, and undergo independent verification. Under founder Zoe Peng’s leadership, HOYA BIT adopted the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) methodology, invested in Gold Standard carbon offset projects, and prioritized renewable energy initiatives with measurable contributions toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
“The digital asset industry must meet market expectations for governance, accountability and transparency with internationally recognized, verifiable actions,” said Zoe Peng. “Beyond technical innovation, maturity requires consistently demonstrating that a platform can be trusted through audited, measurable efforts.”
HOYA BIT was also invited to participate in BSI’s 125th anniversary events, reflecting Taiwan’s growing role in global conversations about sustainable governance for digital assets. The exchange said it will continue to expand its carbon disclosure practices and provide users with multiple ways to engage in carbon reduction, aiming to make sustainability a collective and actionable commitment across its platform.
