A wallet linked to Ethereum co-founder Jeffrey Wilcke moved 79,358 ETH—about $157 million—to the Kraken exchange on Saturday, according to on-chain analyst @ai_9684xtpa.
The transfer follows an earlier withdrawal by Wilcke roughly eight months ago, when he reportedly moved about $41 million in ETH. Lookonchain data indicated he held about 95,897 ETH around the time of that earlier activity.
Wilcke joined the Ethereum project in late 2013 and is best known for creating Geth, the most widely used client for running Ethereum nodes. He helped maintain the network’s core infrastructure until stepping back around 2018 and later shifted into gaming with the launch of Grid Games.
As an early co-founder, Wilcke is estimated to have been allocated roughly 463,000 ETH. He has periodically sold portions of his holdings over the past several years.
At the time of reporting, Ethereum traded near $1,900—up about 4% over the past seven days—according to CoinGecko. The token remains roughly 60% below its record high near $4,900 set last August.
Large transfers by prominent figures can influence crypto markets more strongly than moves by anonymous wallets, and activity from well-known founders often draws extra attention from traders and analysts.
