Crypto trading and investment firm GSR has bought advisory firms Autonomous and Architech for $57 million to build a unified platform for tokenized projects. The transaction merges launch advisory, treasury services and capital markets infrastructure with GSR’s existing trading, market-making and asset management capabilities.
Autonomous will continue to operate under its current brand and brings operational and financial support for token launches, including treasury functions, financial reporting and coordination with exchanges, custodians and market makers. Architech, which will be integrated into a new GSR digital asset advisory unit, contributes token design and liquidity-strategy expertise and has advised on token launches that reached a combined peak fully diluted value north of $10 billion since its 2024 founding.
GSR says the combined offering is intended to cut the friction many crypto projects face when engaging multiple providers for structuring, token economics, fundraising and exchange listings. Under the integrated platform, issuers can access coordinated treasury services—liquidity planning, risk management and capital allocation for digital reserves—alongside capital-markets and fundraising support and continuous market-making.
The transaction comes as token fundraising has shifted significantly since the ICO era of 2017–18. Modern launches increasingly rely on private funding rounds, arranged exchange listings and structured liquidity provisioning rather than broad retail ICOs. Large private raises, such as Monad’s $225 million 2024 round led by Paradigm, exemplify the trend. Platforms aimed at compliant retail access have also emerged: Coinbase launched a regulated primary token-offering product that layers compliance, lockups and managed distribution onto token sales, debuting with Monad.
Issuers are experimenting with issuance tied to corporate strategy and milestones. For example, exchange Backpack has floated a token allocation model linked to business milestones and a potential IPO, with some supply managed by a corporate treasury; the company reportedly explored raising $50 million at a $1 billion pre-money valuation.
GSR’s move positions the firm to provide end-to-end support for tokenized initiatives—from economic design and launch execution to market making and ongoing treasury management—seeking to streamline processes and improve coordination for issuers.
