An artificial intelligence model from Alibaba has forecast that XRP could top $7 this year, with an upper estimate near $42 — a range that would place the token’s market capitalization roughly between $400 billion and $2.52 trillion.
That outlook echoes predictions from several human analysts who have been calling for a substantial revaluation of the asset.
Regulatory Shift Seen As Turning Point
U.S. regulators appear to be drawing a clearer line on classification. The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission jointly issued a framework that treats XRP, Bitcoin and Ethereum as digital commodities. This marks a departure from the SEC’s earlier position, which treated XRP as a security and had weighed on the token for years.
Industry observers say the shift could encourage broader institutional participation in XRP-related products and services. Proposed legislation such as the Clarity Act, if enacted, would further clarify rules around crypto used in cross-border payments and financial infrastructure.
XRP has long been positioned for international money transfers, and clearer regulation could speed adoption by banks and payment firms.
Bitcoin And Ethereum Leading The Charge
XRP’s prospects are tied to broader market momentum. Bitcoin is being watched closely, with some forecasts placing it as high as $250,000, while Ethereum projections — tied to tokenization and stablecoin growth — point toward a potential $10,000 price.
Institutional demand from Bitcoin exchange-traded funds launched by BlackRock and Fidelity has been a major driver, and Morgan Stanley recently added its own Bitcoin ETF to the New York Stock Exchange. These products have funneled significant institutional money into crypto markets.
Grayscale Investments’ head of research, Zach Pandl, and other analysts say XRP could undergo a meaningful repricing once regulatory clarity stabilizes, arguing the token has been undervalued relative to its real-world use and adoption.
Early Movers Warned Of Closing Window
Some analysts frame the current phase as a transfer of wealth from late entrants to early actors, echoing past Bitcoin cycles where retail investors arrived too late to capture the largest gains.
XRP is trading around $1.50.
