SINGAPORE, April 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — VerifyVASP, a leading Travel Rule solution provider, announced today it has acquired Sygna, a prominent Japan-based provider. The deal advances VerifyVASP’s global expansion and reinforces its role as core compliance infrastructure for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) across major international markets.
Consolidating the Travel Rule Ecosystem
The acquisition is a major step toward consolidating a fragmented Travel Rule market into a unified, interoperable compliance network that aligns with national regulations, Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards, and global data protection rules. Central to this effort is VerifyVASP’s Verified Network, a global compliance infrastructure enabling secure, real-time, standardized data exchange between VASPs. Adding Sygna expands the network’s scale, depth, and geographic reach, strengthening network effects and regulatory alignment.
Existing Sygna members will continue operations without disruption and will be gradually onboarded to the Verified Network with adaptations for local regulatory requirements. This transition will broaden connectivity across key markets and improve interoperability. At the same time, VerifyVASP’s current members will gain access to a wider set of regulated counterparties, reducing friction in cross-border transactions and streamlining compliance workflows.
The Global Standard for Travel Rule Compliance
The acquisition bolsters VerifyVASP’s position as a global standard-setter for Travel Rule compliance infrastructure.
Shih Yun Chia, CEO of VerifyVASP, said the deal “underscores our commitment to setting the global standard for Travel Rule compliance through an expanded, objectives-based network,” noting its timeliness as FATF and other international bodies push for stronger enforcement.
Michael Ou, Founder and CEO of Sygna, said Sygna was built to create trusted compliance infrastructure in one of the world’s most demanding regulatory environments and that combining with VerifyVASP will significantly expand the reach and impact of that work.
As regulatory expectations evolve, VerifyVASP says it will continue building a globally connected compliance ecosystem to support VASPs, financial institutions, and regulators in creating secure, transparent, and trusted digital asset markets.
