Crypto trading and investment firm GSR has acquired advisory companies Autonomous and Architech in a $57 million transaction to create an integrated platform for tokenized projects. The deal combines launch support, treasury management and capital markets infrastructure with GSR’s existing trading, market-making and asset management capabilities.
Autonomous brings operational and financial services for token launches, including treasury operations, financial management and coordination with exchanges, custodians and market makers. Architech contributes token design and liquidity strategy expertise, having advised on token launches with a combined peak fully diluted value above $10 billion since its 2024 founding. GSR said Autonomous will continue to operate under its existing brand, while Architech will be folded into a new digital asset advisory unit.
The acquisition aims to reduce inefficiencies and coordination challenges that many crypto projects face when relying on multiple providers for structuring, token economics, fundraising and exchange listings. Under GSR’s platform, projects will have access to integrated treasury services such as liquidity planning, risk management and capital allocation for digital asset reserves, alongside capital markets and fundraising support.
Token fundraising has evolved since the ICO boom of 2017–18. Modern launches often use private funding rounds, coordinated exchange listings and structured liquidity provisioning rather than direct retail ICOs. Large private rounds—such as Monad’s $225 million 2024 raise led by Paradigm—illustrate this shift. Coinbase has also introduced a regulated primary token offering platform that provides US retail access to token sales with compliance, lockups and controlled distribution, debuting with Monad’s sale.
Projects are experimenting with issuance models tied to corporate strategy and milestones. For example, crypto exchange Backpack has proposed a token distribution linked to business milestones and a potential IPO, with part of the supply managed by a corporate treasury; the company was reportedly seeking $50 million at a $1 billion pre-money valuation.
This acquisition positions GSR to offer end-to-end support for tokenized initiatives, from economic design and launch execution to market making and ongoing treasury management, aiming to streamline processes for issuers and improve coordination across services.
