Base has launched a mainnet bridge to Solana that enables users and developers to move assets between the two networks, bringing Solana liquidity and activity into the Coinbase‑backed Base ecosystem. The bridge supports transfers of SOL and any Solana SPL token into Base applications and allows Base assets to be sent back to Solana.
Security for the bridge is provided by Chainlink’s Cross‑Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) together with Coinbase‑operated validation. That dual‑verification model means both Chainlink and Coinbase independently verify cross‑chain messages before a transfer is finalized, a design intended to reduce the kinds of risks that have affected other bridges.
Several projects have already integrated the bridge, including Zora, Aerodrome, Virtuals, Flaunch, and Relay, giving users immediate on‑ramps for trading and liquidity across ecosystems. Base frames the launch around its philosophy of being interoperable rather than isolated, aiming to make asset movement between chains as seamless as internet traffic.
The bridge code is open source on GitHub, so developers can inspect, reuse, and integrate it as cross‑chain use cases grow. The release represents a strategic step toward expanding cross‑chain liquidity between Base and Solana.
